Five killed, 8 injured in two road mishaps in Jammu region | India News


JAMMU: Five persons were killed and eight injured in two separate road mishaps in Doda and Poonch districts of Jammu & Kashmir on Friday.
Police sources said three persons died on the spot while eight others sustained injuries when their taxi rolled down a deep gorge near Hambal in Doda district. The deceased were identified as Ishtiyaq Ahmed, Om Raj and driver Mohammad Ayub, all residents of Dadni Marmat in Doda district. The injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital in Doda for treatment.
The second accident claimed two lives when their tanker plunged into a deep gorge on the Mughal Road in Poonch district. The deceased were identified as driver Tarvinder Singh and conductor Mangal Singh.
